The tripod was unsteady (didn't realize it at the time), and it fell over. I broke the remote control. It could have been worse, though. I haven't tried macro photography since!Linda G.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10734059475022760098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7690422682664917237.post-42656322904101323442014-10-19T19:55:25.045-04:002014-10-19T19:55:25.045-04:00Thanks for the comments and for sharing you experi...Thanks for the comments and for sharing you experiences with disasters or near disasters.

I think everyone who carries cameras regularly will have at least some close calls, but it seems I have my share or more of accidents that result in damage.

Part of it may be from getting older and not paying close attention like I used to, but to a large extent it is because of trying to shoot both photos and video and having too much equipment to deal with at one time.Willardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17059945499957721902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7690422682664917237.post-90815634907628508342014-10-19T19:36:42.226-04:002014-10-19T19:36:42.226-04:00Wow, that is a story I wouldn't wish on any ph...Wow, that is a story I wouldn't wish on any photographer. Although all photos are very good I especially love the fawn. Quick story... Last winter, I forgot to lower the center post on my graphite tripod and it cracked while propped over my shoulder. My 5D Mk III and 300mm began to tumble down my back. I bent over and dropped it slowly into about 12 inches of snow to save the day. Horrible feeling regardless.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10072827080465916454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7690422682664917237.post-51912554307605414202014-10-19T18:06:53.736-04:002014-10-19T18:06:53.736-04:00Know how you felt, I once fell on a camera hard en...Know how you felt, I once fell on a camera hard enough to drive the lens into the body, breaking the mount.
