Sharing A Moment

Curious Whitetail Buck: Canon 40-D 70-200mmL F2.8

If treated with respect, even whitetail deer will give their trust to certain humans and in turn reward them by giving them insights into their lives that few are fortunate enough to ever see or comprehend.

Magnificent photograph. It reminds me so much of the squirrels or the raccoons I have photographed. And the birds too. There is a kind of mutual understanding between us that some people understand and recognize and others never do. If you got it you know it and nobody has to remind you. At least I feel that way.

I developed a new layout on my backyard wildlife site and wanted you to take a look at it.

www.oldmanlincoln.com

I am curious to know what you think of the layout for the starlings and raccoons, etc. It took me an entire day to do the layout and get it right and now it looks best in IE Internet Explorer and worst in Firefox. ???

Anyway, when you get to the Starling page, you can send me an email from there and let me know what you think.

Thanks.

This is beautiful! He does look like a trusting soul. I haven't been able to get this close to a deer around here.... but we have LOTS of them.

I thought it was one of those decoys at first.

He looks so alert. Very sharp. I like the touches of fall color out of focus in the background, and the framing with the haybales.

I think if the white tail had the camera he'd have been taking pictures to.
This is a cracking picture, to have a face to face to this beautiful creature must be very special.

Wonderful image. WOW... I love the markings and the cute sweet face. The fall colors in the background add a bit of color.. nice touch :) :) but really the Buck stands on its own. I could just sit here and stare at it for hours!!! :) :)

A PS about trust with the White tails… So right one about that. We have them here on our wee farm. WE do not allow even sons to hunt on our land saving it for a place of refuge.

They come up ever-early summer and RE TEST me as to if it is OK to eat the Hostas. All I do is go out shake a finger and tell them IT IS STILL a NO NO… they snort, look at me and sigh in their way and amble off…but they bring back their young for us to see… what a win win there

That's simply spectacular. Nic to see you have two of my favourite bloggers on your favourites - Old Man Lincoln and Wiggers' World.

Nice to ``meet'' you from the other side of the world.
